Kung Fu and Tai Chi Grandmaster Leung Shum developed a series of simple daily exercises and recorded them onto DVD for all to learn and practice. The exercises are fantastic for anyone who has little time to work out, is just recovering from an illness or injury and needs a simple routine, or for people who need a quick warm-up just before they engage in strenuous exercise. It would make a great holiday gift.
I watched the DVD and think that most people should be able to engage in these simple and effective exercises. The back bend should be performed with caution especially in people with low back pain because it could compress the spaces in the lower spine. The voice over exercise instruction is clear and concise and the background music is good.
Also, advanced exercises are included. Most of the advanced exercises utilize a technique called ballistic stretching, a.k.a. bouncing. Do not attempt this section unless you have first warmed-up for at least 20 minutes. If the ballistic stretching does not feel right, then do not bounce -- just stretch.
